Identification
Dandelion has:
- Broad, smooth pointed leaves that grow around the base of the flower stem.
- Stems are large and milky inside.
- There is only ever one plump flower per stem.
- Roots or long tap roots that are also quite milky, usually slightly rusty orange coloured.
Cats Ear has:
- Hairy leaves that are less pointed than Dandelion.
- Stems are thinner and more spindly, with no milk.
- The stems will branch off to support multiple flower heads.
Hawksweed has:
- Leaves shaped similar to Dandelion, but that grow at the base and on the stem.
- Stems are thinner and more spindly like Cats Ear.
- Stems will branch off to support multiple flower heads.
